My name is Alexander von Felbert and I am living with my family in Munich (Germany).
I have been working as a risk manager in several financial institutions since more than a decade, gathering expertise in all main risk types. That may be the reason why I tend to use finance-related examples in my blog posts.
I am fascinated by statistical and machine learning as it combines math, statistics and computer science in a very productive way.
Beside my full-time job within risk management, I do research in the intersection between math and finance. By education, I am a mathematician and computer scientist (University of Hagen and Bonn). For my diploma math thesis, I won a main prize of the Studierendenkonfernz , which is a German-wide competition hosted by the German Mathematical Society, in 2010.
